Terms of Service
Last updated September 10, 2026
SongDibs is operated by Dune Summit LLC ("SongDibs," "we," "us"). These Terms govern your use of songdibs.com and the SongDibs service. By creating an account or making a request or tip through a SongDibs page, you agree to them.
1. What SongDibs is
SongDibs lets performing musicians ("Artists") publish a list of songs, and lets audience members ("Fans") request songs and send tips or messages during a live performance. SongDibs is a software platform. We are not a party to the performance, and we do not guarantee that any requested song will be played.
2. Accounts
- Artists must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into contracts. Fans making payments must be at least 18 or have a parent or guardian's permission to use the payment method.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Authentication is provided by Clerk.
- You may not impersonate another person or band, or choose a handle that infringes someone else's rights.
3. Payments, tips, and requests
How charges work. When a Fan requests a song, the Fan's payment method is authorized but not charged. The charge is completed only when the Artist marks the song as played. If the Artist passes on the request, or the performance ends without it being played, the authorization is released and the Fan is not charged. Plain tips and messages to the Artist are charged immediately.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Each Artist connects their own Stripe account and is the merchant of record for tips and requests they receive. The Artist, not SongDibs, receives the funds, pays Stripe's processing fees, and is responsible for refunds, disputes, and taxes on that income.
- SongDibs does not take a percentage of tips. Artists pay SongDibs a subscription fee for use of the platform (see Section 5).
- A request is a tip in exchange for the Artist's consideration of the request. Requests that are not played are not charged. Once a request has been played and charged, it is final; any refund is at the Artist's discretion and is issued by the Artist through Stripe.
- Fans agree not to submit fraudulent payments, dispute legitimate charges, or use SongDibs to harass performers or other patrons.
- Authorization holds expire under Stripe's rules (currently seven days) if an Artist neither plays nor passes on a request.
4. Artist content: songs, charts, and files
- Artists may store chord charts, lyrics, tabs, PDFs, images, and notes for their own private use during performances ("Charts"). Charts are visible only to the Artist's own account. SongDibs does not publish, share, index, or sell Charts, and does not display lyrics to Fans.
- You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. By uploading Charts you represent that doing so for your private performance use does not infringe anyone's rights, and you grant SongDibs only the limited license needed to store and display that content back to you.
- Song titles, artist names, and album artwork shown to Fans are sourced from Apple Music's public catalog at the Artist's direction, for identifying songs. Artwork is the property of its rights holders.
- Artists' public profile information (name, handle, links, tip settings, sign text) is shown to Fans and may appear on venue screens.
5. Subscriptions
- The free plan includes a limited number of live gigs per calendar month. The Pro plan is a flat monthly subscription with unlimited live gigs, billed through Clerk Billing and Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. You can cancel any time from Settings; you keep access through the end of the paid period. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
- We may change plan prices with at least 30 days' notice.
6. Fan-submitted text
Fans may attach a first name, a shoutout, or a message to a request. This text may be shown to the Artist, on the Artist's stage devices, and (for names and shoutouts) on venue screens. We filter obvious profanity automatically and Artists may decline any request. Do not submit content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that reveals someone else's private information.
7. Copyright and DMCA
We respect intellectual property rights and expect users to do the same. If you believe content on SongDibs infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at support@songdibs.com including: identification of the work, the material you claim infringes it and where it is located, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature. We will respond in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, including removing content and, where appropriate, terminating the accounts of repeat infringers.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: interfere with or overload the service; scrape it; attempt to access other users' data; use it for any unlawful purpose; or circumvent payment, rate limits, or security features.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or as required by our payment partners. Artists remain responsible for completing or refunding any charges made through their Stripe account.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, that a request will be played, or that any particular amount will be earned. Venue internet, device batteries, and bar crowds are outside our control.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dune Summit LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenues, arising from your use of SongDibs. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the subscription fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred dollars.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, notify Artists by email or in the app. Continued use after the change means you accept it.
